How to Activate a SolidCAM Network License

Network licenses allow multiple users to access SolidCAM efficiently without requiring individual licenses on every workstation. Before You Install The Network License

Make sure you have your product key ready, as it is required to complete the activation process. The product key is provided by TriMech Group, so if you have not received it, please get in touch with us.

How to Install a SolidCAM Network License

SolidCAM network licenses allow client machines to connect to the license server over a network. As a result, the server machine needs to be configured before the local installations.

Configuring the Server

SolidCAM needs a server running the license server when using network licensing. This can be a traditional bare metal server, a virtualized system, or a standard workstation set to never sleep. The biggest requirement is that the server and client machines reside on the same network.

Once the server is running, follow these steps:

1. Download the SolidCAM Server Activation Wizard.
2. Extract the downloaded zip file.
3. Run the Install.bat to launch the activation tool.
4. Enter your product key and email address.

5. Click Activate.

Configuring the Client Machines

Once the product key is activated on your server, the user machines need to be connected to the licensing wizard. SolidCAM should automatically find the license server when it is first run.

If it does automatically detect the server, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to http://localhost:1947/_int_/config_to.html.
2. Enter the server’s IP address in Remote License Search Parameters.
3. Click Submit.
